Cheese Lovers (2)

Cheese.   Sometimes one word can bring a variety of things to mind.

Macaroni and cheese.   What child hasn’t grown up with this dish as a mainstay of their lunch and dinners?  And I think most of us still enjoy it as adults.   I know we do! Close up of mac and cheese

Cheese pizza.   Cheese pizzaPeople have their favorite pizzas with a variety of toppings, but I don’t think I have ever met anyone who didn’t enjoy a good ole fashion slice of cheese pizza.

Caprese salad.   This is my all-time favorite cheese dish.   When I make it,  I just put slices of tomatoes and mozzarella on a plate, adding a basil leaf between each.  Or you can buy cherry or grape tomatoes and small balls of mozzarella cheese to use in place of sliced tomatoes and cheese.   I then add a splash of balsamic vinegar and olive oil over the top and season with salt and pepper.Caprese Salad in the DRThis is such a good dish!

This is an example of a salad I ordered at a local restaurant near where we live now. In this dish they added the basil to the salad dressing which they poured over the top AND gave a separate small pitcher full of the dressing on the side. .  They also offer this as a sandwich, which sounds great!

How will you “celebrate” National Cheese Lover’s Day?
